About Hyderabad

The state of Telangana in southern India is centered in Hyderabad. In addition to being a hub for the technology sector, it has a large number of posh stores and eateries. Among its historical sites is Golconda Fort, the capital of the Qutb Shahi dynasty and a former hub for the trade of diamonds. The city, dubbed "Greater Hyderabad," has recently expanded in size and is now regarded as the second-biggest in India. In the 1950s and 1960s most of the Indian premier public enterprises (BHEL, NMDC, HMT, BEL, IDPL, ECIL, DRDO, and HAL) were established in Hyderabad, transforming its economical profile from traditional manufacturing to cosmopolitan industrial service sector.

Since the 1990s, its economic patterns have shifted the city from a primary service hub to a more diversified spectrum, attracting it enterprises, biotech, insurance and financial institutions along with a large employment base in ancillary activities including trade and commerce, transport, storage, communication, real-estate and retail which combine to employ three times the number of people than it industries.
